A major collaborative effort between the Hydraulic Institute (HI), FIATECH AEX Project and NIST produced data dictionaries to define data items, which may be exchanged during centrifugal and rotary pump Bid Request For Quote (RFQ) and Bid Quote work flow processes.
The resulting standard enables any data exchange participant to quickly and efficiently ensure quality data exchange. This standard is endorsed by, and referenced within, API 610, 11th ed.; ISO 13709, 2nd ed.; Process Industry Practices (PIP) standards, and the ANSI/ASME B73 standards.
The full data dictionaries and guidelines are offered freely from the HI Electronic Data Exchange page.
Note that the schema release package includes example XML files for centrifugal pumps representing Bid RFQ, BidQuote and As Built work processes.
As part of the FIATECH AEX Project, and in collaboration with NIST, considerable work was undertaken in 2011-12 on a data dictionary for control valves. It was compiled to define data items for the Bid Quote work flow and includes specifications for Motor Operated Valves (MOVs). To complete this dictionary detailed collaborative review is required.

As part of the FIATECH AEX Project, and in collaboration with NIST, preliminary work was undertaken on a draft data dictionary to define data items for Electric Motors (Squirrel-cage Induction Motors) for the Bid Quote work flow process. Data items are listed, with data types, basic definitions and XPaths.

As part of the FIATECH GVCC Project, a video was produced to show the cfiXML-based block valve catalogue, based on PIP block valve specifications and the selection of valves by matching to various criteria.
